The fucoxanthin is a carotenoid pigment found in brown seaweed, shown in recent clinical studies to help reduce abdominal fat. It also helps fight diabetes. There are 10mg of fucoxanthin per Modifilan capsule.

L'organic iodine which helps to control and prevent disorders related to the thyroid gland, stabilizes the metabolism and promotes the maturation of the nervous system. Iodine by itself is very rare and is usually synthesized chemically. One of the only ways to get iodine naturally is to eat brown seaweed.

the fucoidan which is a polysaccharide found only in brown seaweed. It stimulates the immune system and promotes apoptosis (self-destruction) of malignant and harmful cells in the body.

Use: It is advisable to take Modifilan on an empty stomach but with a stomach full of water. Drink at least 25 cl of water for 3 capsules of Modifilan. See also Fucoidan.

• For general good health and for prophylactic use take 3 to 4 capsules daily.
• For weight loss and body mass control take 6 capsules daily.
• To treat an existing ailment such as high blood glucose, cardiovascular disorders, high cholesterol, or thyroid dysfunction, take 8-10 capsules daily. If improvement is observed, the dose can be reduced to 4 capsules per day.
• As a chelation aid (detoxifying the body of heavy metals and radiation), take 10-12 capsules daily. It is advisable to take a break of 2 or 3 days a month during the detoxification process.

Harvest and production

Modifilan is extracted from a brown seaweed known as Laminaria japonica, grown in cool, temperate waters near the Kuril Islands. Harvesting Laminaria is a laborious process that involves a lot of manual labor including hand picking by divers, transport by boat to shore, and drying (by exposure to the sun). Only then can the seaweed be subjected to the extraction process.

The patented technology of physical extraction by vacuum evaporation at low temperature, removes the heavy outer fiber of the seaweed to keep only the inner soluble part. This delicate process increases the proportion of polysaccharides, minerals and vitamins retained in the extract. Removing the heavy outer fiber also increases the digestibility and bio-availability of the extract. When it is refined, it is encapsulated and then bottled under the name Modifilan. 18 kilos of seaweed give approximately 450 grams of Modifilan.

History of Modifilan

Modifilan was first studied and developed in the USSR as a treatment for employees of scientific laboratories and nuclear power plants irradiated by nuclear fallout. The Soviet government sought to obtain a natural process to detoxify the human body during contamination by heavy metals or radiation. This and a project has been launched to discover such a method.

One branch of the research has led scientists to examine the supposed medical properties of an algae found off the Russian Far East coast. After numerous experiments, it was discovered that the ingestion of a brown algae called Laminaria Japonica had the ability to improve the well-being of irradiated subjects. Due to the positive results obtained with laminaria during the experiments, an extract of this algae was produced and called Modifilan. However, it was not until about 20 years after its discovery that Modifilan was successfully used to treat radiation poisoning on a large scale.

In 1986 the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Ukraine) exploded, covering the city and its surroundings with radioactive debris. Modifilan was without hesitation sent to all the affected areas where it helped to detoxify thousands of victims. During the treatment, the Soviet government mobilized a large number of doctors to monitor the health of all patients using Modifilan. The results exceeded expectations, in addition to its ability to eliminate heavy metals from the body, Modifilan was used to restore the functions of the thyroid gland and increase the energy level of patients who consumed the extract.
